Adobe Illustrator CC Pattern Brush
The Adobe Illustrator CC Pattern Brush is a totally different brush than all of the other brushes. Everyone has their own artistic view of how to use different art tools, but my view of this brush is that it is great for borders. The Adobe Illustrator CC Pattern Brush is great for creating extremely unique borders. The Pattern Brush gives you the power to put a message on each and every border of your design.
The Adobe Illustrator CC Pattern Brush takes a bit more planning than the other brushes because it is made up of Patterns. The use the brush, first you must create patterns and store them in the swatch box before you can access them. While I have stated that the Pattern Brush is great for borders, you can apply the brush to any vector object, be it a rectangular border, a circle, oval or line.
The way the Pattern brush works is that you create patterns that will be replicated along the lines of the path of your object. You will create specific patterns for the corners and the ends and beginnings of your object.
Once you have created these patterns, then you can also use the options of stretch to fit the object, or you can add space to fit the object. If your original design is a little to large, you can scale the entire design so that the patterns become larger or smaller.
In this video, we use an image. A circular png that is the picture of a young lady’s face. In this video, we have a pattern for the lines and the corners. This design would be great for gift wrap for that special person.
